NFL game times

The NFL is the classic time-zone headache: Sunday's early games land at a civilised 6pm in the UK, but Sunday Night Football starts at 1:20am and Monday Night Football on a work night. Here's every regular slot converted to your time — and the London games that don't require an alarm clock.

Games are scheduled in US Eastern Time; almost everything happens on Sunday.

NFL — quick answers

How long does an NFL game last?

About 3 hours 10 minutes of real time for 60 minutes of game clock — TV timeouts, reviews and halftime stretch it out. Plan a 3–3.5 hour window.

How many games are in an NFL season?

Each team plays 17 regular-season games over 18 weeks (September to early January), followed by the playoffs and the Super Bowl in February.

Why are NFL games so late in Europe?

The schedule is built for US TV: Sunday afternoon kickoffs in the US are Sunday evening in the UK/Europe, and prime-time games start after 1am. The annual London games are the exception — they kick off at 2:30pm UK time.
